Guy Casaubon
10-31-1967 to 3-8-2011

Growing up with Guy Casaubon was a trick and a treat! He loved to have fun and anyone that knew him can attest to that. He was the life of the party and would often take over a microphone at weddings, much to the embarrassment of his wife, Kim!

Guy was active and loved the outdoors, especially being on his boat. One particular Saturday on his boat, he thought we could stay out a little longer and ignored our request to leave because of a huge storm that was forming. We ended up in a “perfect storm” which was famously known as “The Three-Hour Tour”. Not once did he show how scared he might have been. He kept making jokes the entire time so that none of us felt scared! That was Guy, and that’s how he went through his radiation and chemotherapy sessions, and all of his surgeries. He never wanted anyone to know just how scared he really was – even until his last breath. Guy was taken from us on March 8, 2011. He is now our guardian angel sitting next to my dad, Jacques, who died at 67 from a heart attack and my cousin, Josee, who also passed away from cancer at 39 years young.

Guy was married to Kim for 15-1/2 years and they had 2 beautiful girls, Kayla & Kaitlin. His 3 girls were the gleam in his eyes – the light of his life. To think that they are without him now breaks my heart and this is why I’m doing this event - to raise money for Miles For Hope’s brain cancer research. NO ONE should have to go through the pain and suffering that my brother went through the last 2 years of his life. No family should have to experience the loss of someone that was so full of life at such a young age.

Brain cancer robbed us of this energetic, outgoing, adventurous, fun-loving, courageous person. He was a son, a husband, a dad, a brother, an uncle, a friend. He touched so many lives in his short 43 years. He was my hero.

The picture you see of Guy was taken last year on his birthday. Little did we know it would be last one we would celebrate with him

Please support this event in any way you can. Join as a runner – donate as a company or team. Help us raise as much as possible so that one day very soon, there is a cure for this evil disease.

As with any event, participation is important, however, fundraising is a vital aspect of such an event. We do not require fundraising to participate, although it is highly encouraged. Every fundraising dollar brings us closer to a cure!

Brain tumors are currently the #1 cause of solid tumor cancer death in children under the age of 20. It's time for change! Help find a cure for this devastating disease.

Miles for Hope is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness, funding of cutting edge brain tumor research and clinical trials and to providing travel assistance to qualified patients. Through our work, we intend on finding not only treatments that provide a better quality of life for those suffering with brain tumors, but to find a cure for it.
